After five years of marraige, we finally made it to a Ray Reunion. That family is HUGE! Alan is one of 88 grandchildren on his mom's side and I can't remember if it was Grace or Mae who made 88 great-grandchildren. Either way, I know there have been many more since then. I'm sure the great-grandchildren tally for Grandma and Grandpa Ray is well into the hundreds. It is so much fun to be part of such a huge, wonderful family. This year the reunion was held in Pine Arizona at Grandma and Grandpa's cabin. Grandpa bought tents for every family and we all camped on his property around the cabin. I got to sleep in a bed inside because of frequent trips to the toity during the night - thanks to my growing baby. Alan slept with Grace and Mae outside in his truck tent - probably the cutest thing I have ever seen. The original plan was for Mae to sleep inside with me, but she felt so left out. She wanted to party with Dad and Grace in the modern covered wagon. (We had a family night lesson on pioneers the week before and then drove to Cabella's to buy our own covered wagon:)
The theme for the reunion was "Our hearts turn to you," referring to Grandma and Grandpa. All the activites and lessons and treats were centered around them. It was great as an in-law to learn more about their wonderful lives.
