Every year my family rents a condo on the beach for two weeks. It is my favorite vacation, time of year, place on earth ever. I look forward to it starting the day we have to leave. This year it just so happened that only the girls could come for the first week. The hubbies had to work and Walker had sports practices. We wished Karen could have been here with us too, but she had to work. It was just my mom, Alexis, Ashlyn, my girls and I. We had a BLAST! One day we all got matching pedicures, including Grace and Mae. The rest of the time we sat on the beach and read our books, built sand castles, played in the water, went on walks, shopped, went out to eat, and watched lots of chick flicks and "so you think you can dance."

The girls were so entertained at the beach - which means major vacation for Mom and Dad! They kept themselves busy by building sandcastles, catching sand crabs, digging for worms, filling and emptying their watering cans, playing with sand toys, flying kites, drawing pictures in the sand, and dancing in the water.
Alan was able to be with us for almost a week and a half. We were in heaven. It was such a fun family vacation. Thanks Mom and Dad!!!
DISNEY LAND...
We also took a day while we were in California to visit the happiest place on earth. It was our first time taking our little family to Disney Land and probably one of the best days of our lives. Alan admitted that it was better than our wedding day. Other than the Alice in Wonderland ride that completely terrified Grace and Mae, they were in absolute heaven all day. They felt right at home with all of the princesses. We went with our friends, Ryan and Julie Bingham, who are Disneyland gurus to say the least. Alan and I didn't have to look at the theme park map once. The Binghams got a hotel room right across the street from Disney land, so after lunch, we all went back to the hotel for naps. With that bit of rejuvenating beauty sleep, all of our girls stayed up until 10:00 and then crashed in their strollers after the fireworks show. We took that opportunity to do all the fun grown-up rides until midnight. It was a great day. To top it all off, the Coldstone creamery right across the street stays open until 1:00 a.m. Does it get much better than that?

Now every time I put Mae to bed she says "I love you all the way to Disney Land" followed by, "I love you Miss Erica." She thinks she's so funny!

Sounds like you had a great week in Cali. That sounds like a perfect vacation to be just on the beach and not have a care in the world. Hope all is well. We love you all!
