It was such a relaxing trip for me. I wish Alan came back as rejuvenated as I did. He was in seminars all day learning difficult material while I was partying in down town Chicago with my sister, Alexis.
She and her husband are living in Indianapolis for the summer, so she drove 3 hours to hang out with me in Chicago for a day. It was SO much FUN!!! We shopped at the 7 story Macy's had lunch, went to the 3 story American Girl Doll store - (which my girls would have loved) and much much more. That night, Alexis was going to drive back home, but we convinced her to stay with us. The three of us went to an authentic Chicago pizzeria and had the real deal deep dish pizza.

The next morning Alexis had to leave to get back in time for work and Alan had seminars again. So, I hung out in the hotel room: slept in, watched a movie, read my book, and got all dressed up for WICKED!!! The firm surprised us with tickets to the Broadway musical. Alan and I took the train downtown, had a bite to eat and went to the Oriental Theater. It was amazing. Happy Mothers Day to me!
p.s. Alan and I only took one picture together on that trip and it turned out terrible. I've learned my lesson. Take at least two!

Yeah for such a great trip. I am so happy that you got in a trip without the babies before number 3 comes and that you got to see Wicked and your sister!
That was such a fun day! I love going on trips with you even if they are short and a little unexpected! We can always have a good time when there is food and shopping involved! Sure love you!
Oh, I'm super jealous. You mentioned you had been in Chicago but I had no idea it was so awesome. I have always wanted to see Wicked so you'll have to fill me in on how you liked it.
OOH! sounds SUPER fun! We LOVE chicago. it's a much cleaner new york city. I'm so glad you could get away for a little while
You crack me up! Makes me want to plan a gettaway...
Oh what a fun trip!I'm so happy you were able to get away! I must not have read your blog in a long time because I had no idea you were pregnant too! Looks like we'll be having babies together again! I'm only a couple months behind you--congrats! Your girls are adorable--love all the dress up stuff! Hopefully we can get together soon! -Lori
How FUN!! I am so jealous. You so deserved that trip. How nice for them to give you permission to go by saying, "The wives are encouraged..." and how sad would Alan have been if he didn't go to Wicked or did and you weren't there! So glad you got to go. How's your sissy?
