With all the blooming and hatching and budding going on, it seemed only natural to take part in the birds and the bees. I'm about 10 weeks pregnant and feeling it! I took a pregnancy test on Valentines Day and suprised Alan. Almost immediately, I started feeling sick.
The girls' new form of entertainment is to follow close behind me as I rush to the bathroom to bury my head in the toilet. On many occasions I have heard Grace yell "Mae hurry - this one is disgusting." The other day, Mae was chewing up peanuts and then dramatically spitting them out on the floor. Of course I freaked out when I saw masticated nuts all over the kitchen, and she said "Mom, I frow up." Oh, how they learn by example.
I don't think my kids have minded the change in pace around here though. They love that I actually sit down to watch movies with them (an all too often occasion these days).
Alan has been a trooper for way too long. With a very boring and useless companion, along with stressful work at the office, and playing Mr. Mom before and after work, he is definately over worked and under paid in EVERY WAY. I think I need to send him on a trip when this is over. He needs a break.
I can't believe the blessing it has been to be close to family. My mom has absolutely saved us. She comes over almost everyday to help with the house and the kids. She even substituted my dance class for me when I was too sick to get off the couch. Mothers are angels. I hope I can take care of her someday. My dad has bought take-out for me many nights because I can't cook and Alan works late most nights. Sister-in-laws and friends have just come over to pick up my kids or bring dinner. Thank goodness for friends and family!
The girls are hoping for a boy and Alan is hoping for another girl. I'm impartial. I've just never been so excited for the end result!
My Grandma Sandstrom always told me "It's not easy making a miracle" and "this too shall pass." How neat that we get to make miracles.

Ohhh my sweet Erica. I could just feel your tender self as you wrote that post explaining about how real life is for us moms and yet saying it in such a positive way. There is a reason we forget about how crummy we feel being pregnant huh? I am so happy for you. I am sitting on the edge waiting to find out what you are having too.
Thank goodness for your sweet family who have helped you so much. I just love them-you are so blessed!
Please remember I'm just a phone call away. Let's meet up at the part FINALLY one of these days. We just started swimming a week ago, so bring your girls over and we'll chill by the pool too. (we got some new pool furniture) so it makes it more relaxing.
Remember your grandmothers sweet words!
Love ya.
oh, that kind of made me nervous, and i got that pit in my stomach remembering how yucky i felt being pregnant. matt and i are trying to decide when we want number 3, but it's so hard for me because i don't have ANY family around. i just about had an anxiety attack thinking about it. matt's school is so hard right now too, that i couldn't do that to him. you need to try accupuncture though...i have a couple of friends who swear by it. whew, long post. i'll call you some day soon.
Yuck. I hate (and remember well) that first part! No fun. That's so funny about Mae! I can just picture it. Alan is a trooper! We were just talking about him tonight. I agree w/ you on the family thing; I don't want to have a third until I'm hear family either (if that will ever happen). How nice to have that blessing!
Hurray! I had heard the rumors, but I am glad to hear that they are true from you. I hope that you start to feel a little better soon. Lora said that yesterday afternoon that you felt pretty good, I was glad to hear that! Good luck!
what the? I talked to Al the other day and he didn't say a word about it! Some brother :-) I'm so excited for you Erica, but so sorry you're feeling so yucky. NOT FUN. cute little girls. Hope it doesn't last too much longer. Sweet Grandma Sandstrom. I love that quote-- Good luck, we're so excited for you guys.
Sorry to hear you have been vomiting. I hate throwing up more than anything. At least your girls get to be there to share in the magic. Don't you love your children. I hope you have a boy. That would be fun to see what a boy Soelberg looked like. Just think things will get better past that first trimester, you're not too far. We're so happy for you! I am going to make my blog private so will you send me your email so I can invite you to view it.
